It runs and all, looks decent and was curious to know what the value of one of these may be. It works great for grubbing small saplings for clearing land and levelling lawns for seeding and grading gravel driveways. When I went to turn it back on it just clicks acting like it does not get any juice.

I dont know much about the crawler but if anyone has some information on the serial number, please forward it onto me. It runs and all, looks decent and was curious to know what the value of one of these may be. I have a 50 s Model 40 crawler and I love to push dirt around with it.

I dont know much about the crawler but if anyone has some information on the serial number, please forward it onto me.

The cylinder that raises and lowers the blade is leaking fluid terribly bad and makes for slow work waiting on the blade to move. I am stumped how it worked fine then after 2 hours nothing. if the tracks stay on that is because there is less use and thus less wear in reverse over time.

I took the cylinder off and took it to a parts place that I have gotten John Deere parts from in the past, but I was told today that a rebuild kit is not available from Deere now. Can anyone help me Do you know of a supplier for these antique crawlers Thanks, Fred In the late 50 s when I was 11 or 12 Daddy had a Allis Chalmers CA a WC. Any help would help Peter, Your tracks are coming off because either your bushings, pins or drive sprockets are worn. Look at your Sprockets, does the right side of your teeth, if the tooth is at 12 o clock have a larger radius than the left that is the side that drives the crawler forward. Your tracks have a pin and a bushing between each link.

After I learned to drive, he would pull a JD 4 disc tiller with the WC and I would pull one with the CA to turn land. Idealy, the bushings take the wear and are replaced before there is damage to the sprockets.
